Welcome

Born and brought up in the North East, Martin initially trained as an Actor at Artts International, York. After working professionally for five years in both in TV and Theatre, he set up his own business in Theatre Promotions.

Now based in London and former Theatre Manager at BAC (Battersea Arts Centre), Martin currently works as a British Sign Language Interpreter and Holistic Massage Therapist.

Interpreting

Martin has been signing since 1999 and graduated from UCLAN/SLI with a Post Graduate Diploma in BSL/English Interpreting.  He is a Registered Sign Language Interpreter, (RSLI), with the NRCPD, National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People, (Reg No. 1003564)  and is a full member of  the Association of Sign Language Interpreters (MASLI); for which he upheld the position of Regional Chair for London and South East, 2009 - 2011 and former Director 2011 - 2014. Martin is also a member of the National Union of British Sign Language Interpreters, (NUBSLI), and of Equity, the UK trade union for professional performers and creative practitioners.

Along side his work as a Community Interpreter, Martin specialises in interpreting and translating for rehearsals, workshops and performances.

Martin co-ordinates teams of interpreters for various events, and festivals;

The Pink Singers, 2010 - Present.   

Pride In London 2013 - Present.

Massage

In 2018, Martin became an ITEC3 qualified Holistic Massage Therapist, MGHT, (Member of the Guild of Holistic Therapists). 

Based in Beckenham, he can offer a mobile service, so that you can experience the benefits of a therapeutic and relaxing massage in the comfort and security of your own home, work or hired therapy space.  Areas covered - South East London and the Kent boarders.
