Detailed below is a list of British Sign Language Interpreters, who are fully qualified and registered with the NRCDP. These are fellow professionals who I trust and can highly recommend to deliver a reliable service, when either I’m not available, or to co-work alongside me.

I have a history of many years interpreting theatre and hold Equity membership. For 11 years I worked as an In-vision interpreter in TV broadcast, primarily to cover BBC News 24. Also, I have extensive experience working in the ‘Arts’ and ‘Theatre’, an array of professional domains, training courses, African diaspora/culturally specific and LGBTQ settings.
I am a dramaturg, enjoy my family/friends, music, dance, theatre, reading and life!

Maggie Conway.
Maggie is a native BSL user and has worked in the Deaf Community for over 15 years. She has a strong skill set in her receptive and productive abilities. Particular areas of expertise included: Child Protection, Legal and Social Services. Maggie is a CAD Listed Met Police interpreter. Her work also involves interpreting large scale events, Cabaret and Theatre.

Tracey Tyer.
I have been a BSL/English Interpreter for 16 years gaining RSLI status in 2004. I have particular experience of working in Community settings, VRS/VRI, Theatre (including stand-up comedy), Museums, Art Galleries and Heritage sites.
I am also very comfortable working with DeafBlind clients using visual frame, hands-on and haptic communication and I am an experienced Communicator Guide. In 2011 I gained an MSc (EUMASLI) specialising in working between International Sign and English.
As a freelance interpreter I am available across London/Southeast and have extensive experience working both nationally and internationally.

Qualified BSL/English interpreter. I have had experience in a wide range of domains including legal mental health, medical, domestic violence. I have a relaxed flexible approach to work with colleagues.

Matt Anderson.
Matt Anderson has been working in the Deaf community for over 20 years. He primarily works in the South East, however he is willing to undertake interpreting assignments around the UK in a variety of settings, including workplaces (interviews, appraisals, supervisions, team/department meetings etc), training courses and workshops, conferences (eg: AGM's, presentations, public meetings/consultations, corporate events) and medical appointments etc. Matt is always willing to discuss your needs to ensure that as a deaf person you are getting the best possible access to a service/work place or as an organisation who is wanting to ensure your company is meeting its obligations to meet the needs of the Deaf community.

Daniel Roberts.
I have worked as a Sign language interpreter since 2006, having completed my initial interpreter training at the University of Wolverhampton and qualifying as a Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) via the University of Central Lancashire in 2009. My early interpreting career started within community and medical settings, followed by specialising in academic postdoctoral research interpreting at the Deafness, Cognition and Language research centre (UCL) and now mental health settings. Throughout my career I have worked within every interpreting domain except for police and court interpreting. I have undertaken training in mentoring and am registered as a Supervisor (for trainees) with the National Register of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD). I am confident working into both English and British Sign Language, working with people who have minimal language or those with mental ill-health and working solo or as part of a team.

Alim Jadavji.
I am a CODA (child of deaf adults) Sign Language Interpreter with extensive experience within Theatre & Media. I also have experience in other areas, e.g. finance, technology and LGBT.
I have been interpreting within the deaf community for nearly 10 years, first as a CSW in colleges and universities. I then went onto develop my skills further, becoming an NRCPD Regulated Trainee Sign Language Interpreter in 2016. Then I became a qualified BSL interpreter in 2017.
I have a particular interest in interpreting in academia. I spend much of my spare time reading to improve my knowledge.
I am a trained professional actor, so am fortunate enough to have two careers that I very much enjoy.

Danny Stubbs.
I’m highly experienced in many areas and my particular strength is working with Deaf clinicians in psychological, psychiatric and in general medical settings. I have worked extensively in domains such as the media, police, VRS & VRI, platform / conference.
I studied BSL/English interpreting at the University of Wolverhampton, qualifying in 1999 and gaining my full professional status (RSLI) in 2002.
In addition to the domains listed, I am experienced working in academic settings, theatre and the arts, local and national government, large public events and LGBTQ events.

Rose Lennon.
In 2004 I graduated from the University of East Anglia with a BSc in Sociology & Media Studies. My passion for BSL was ignited in 2006 when I joined the Royal Association for Deaf People, as a Legal Caseworker. I am a native user of BSL, but it was here that I really began to understand the breadth and diversity of the language. In parallel I studied interpreting at the University of Central Lancashire. I qualified as British Sign Language/English Interpreter in 2010.
My career continues to excite and challenge me. I work with talented and dedicated professionals and Deaf people every day. In London I work across many sectors including Industry, Banking, Comms & Media, National Charities and the Public Sector. More locally I work in the community, in domains such as the Legal sector, Higher Education and the Theatre.

Andy Appleby.
Registered BSL Interpreter, Andy graduated from the University of Central Lancaster in 2012. He is experienced in the following domains. Arts, Culture, Child Protection, Social Services, Community, Computers & technology, Education and Medical settings. Andy tends to work mostly in Essex, but also London.
Highlights of Andy’s career include Interpreting I various settings during the 2012 Olympics & Paralympics, and travelling to India for 10 days in 2019 with two Deaf, mature, MA Youth and Community Work students volunteering in a mainstream setting.

Sula Gleeson.
Sula has had a varied career, beginning life as a teacher and later becoming a fully qualified BSL/English Interpreter (RSLI) via exhibiting her art work, working as a tutor in films and TV, creating books, travelling, painting children’s faces at kids parties, dancing (Eastern European & learning to tap) and achieving two degrees, a post graduate diploma and a Masters Degree.
She undertakes interpreting work in a range of domains, but favours the Arts, Culture and sport whenever possible. Working with friendly happy people is a priority for her, so she will consider almost anything if approached in the right way by the right people!
Theatre has always featured strongly throughout her life, attending regularly since being a babe-in-arms; choosing drama as a module option while at university; being involved in Signed Culture for the last few years - now being its chair; interpreting in auditions, rehearsals, R&Ds, workshops, shows, pre/post-show discussions, conferences, etc.

Frances Lewin.
Frances qualified as a BSL/English interpreter in 2001. Sheworks in a variety of domains including community, education, health, media and more recently specialising in higher education and mental health.
Frances is registered with the National Registers of Communication Professionals (NRCPD) working with Deaf and Deafblind People and listed as a professional standards adviser. Frances is a member of the Association of Sign Language Interpreters (ASLI) which includes her professional indemnity. Frances is also a qualified interpreter assessor.
Frances is a part-time PhD student at UCL Institute of Education working under the supervision of Professor ChloëMarshall and Dr Kate Rowley. Her research is looking at deaf students’ experience of interpreting support in the university classroom.

Vicki Ashmore.
Vicki is an NRCPD registered Sign Language Interpreter. She grew up in America but now lives in South East London. Vicki has experience in the domains of deafblind communication, education, advocacy and communication support. Vicki is also a co-founder of the BRIGHT Deafblind community group and is able to offer hands-on and manual sign language interpreting.

Erin Hutching
Having Deaf family, I have used sign language since birth. I am a qualified BSL-English interpreter and graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Interpreting and Translation: BSL-English (Distinction in both theory and practical) from SLI Limited. I am registered with NRCPD and a member of ASLI. I regularly work the following domains - Theatre & the Arts, Higher Education, Media, Fashion, Charity and Medical. I am passionate about and confident working in Academia, having earned a BA Arts & a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Management prior to becoming an interpreter.
I am also a trained, professional actor with a long career predominantly in theatre which I find has given me transferrable skills useful to interpreting including confidence with scrutiny from an audience, interpersonal skills and an ability to integrate easily into a variety of diverse environments.
